THE “INS” AND “OUTS” OF BODY CONTOURING SURGERY
Body contouring surgery comprises a range of reconstructive and aesthetic procedures designed to improve the body’s function and appearance by modifying its size or shape. Surgical procedures are most commonly performed to contour the waist, abdomen, thighs, buttocks, upper torso and upper arms.
Surgery for patients who have undergone massive weight loss may be reconstructive as the purpose is to restore form and function to the body. Surgical methods range from removal of fat and/or excess skin to surgical implants and lifts to improve skin tone and definition.
I perform body contouring surgeries at various private hospitals (South Perth, Hollywood , SJOG Mt Lawley and Westminster) depending on the complexity of your procedure.
I am frequently asked the question
“Will I have scarring?”
Scars are inevitable result of any invasive surgery. As your Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon I will endeavour to minimise scarring and to keep your scars as inconspicuous as possible. By locating incisions in easily hidden sites, scars will be along natural skin lines and creases, and will usually fade with time.
Cost is always a consideration in elective surgery. Prices can vary widely. Some factors that may influence cost include the surgeon’s experience, the type of procedure, and location of operation (hospital or day surgery).
Other costs that should be considered are the anaesthetic fee and the cost of implants. It is important however to note certain procedures attract a Medicare item number. If a Medicare item number is applicable then a health fund will usually contribute towards your fees, depending on your policy and level of cover.
For any further information regarding costs please click the link http://www.cosmetic-plastic-surgery.com.au/ and we will be able to give you an estimation of costs. Finalisation of costs however require a consultation, examination and determination of the applicability of a Medicare item number.
